Three Little Blackbirds Farm has moved. We are now located in North Texas in the rural country town of Paradise just northwest of Fort Worth. We are excited to have a whole new offering of products coming Spring 2018! Thanks for your continued support throughout our relocation.
We are in the process of becoming NPIP (National Poultry Improvement Plan) certified by end of 2017. If you are a poultry farm that sells hatching eggs or chicks, it would be best to wait to buy hatching eggs from us until we obtain our official certification. With that being said, we have never had any signs or symptoms of respiratory illness or disease in our flock such as MG (Mycoplasma Gallisepticum or Chronic Respiratory Disease) which can transfer to hatching eggs. Our flock is healthy and our hatching rates are excellent. Being NPIP certified means that our birds are tested by a vet twice per year to make sure there are no illness or diseases that could potentially spread or infect other chickens, chicks or hatching eggs. This is important because one sick bird (that can appear very healthy) or one infected batch of hatching eggs or baby chicks could wipe out an entire flock of chickens.
Because chickens have very delicate immune systems and are easily susceptible to deadly and contagious diseases, we have strict bio-security measures in place on our farm. We do not allow anyone on the property by our chicken coops or their pasture areas in an effort to eliminate potential harmful outside bacteria to our flock. We do allow tours of the farm, but shoes must be removed and the rubber boots we supply must be worn. No handling of our birds unless you are purchasing them to take home. We take the health of our birds, and the other animals that live on the farm, very seriously.
Take a look around and feel free to contact us with any questions or comments.
